Highways England Blue Star Award
Highways England has awarded a coveted Blue Star Award to the Merseyside-made safety app ‘Busby’ after recognising the lifesaving potential of the smartphone technology.
The technology is used by cyclists, walkers, horse riders and runners all over the world. Earlier this year, Busby partnered up with Africa’s only UCI World Tour cycling team, Team Qhubeka Assos.
The Blue Star award from Highways England recognises new initiatives and exceptional performance.
James Duffy, co-founder of Busby, says: “We are incredibly pleased to have secured this important recognition from Highways England.
“This award underlines the contribution our lifesaving technology is making to making outdoor sports activities safer, particularly for people using Britain’s roads.
“Busby is a free to download smartphone app and is something everyone should seriously consider taking advantage of. We’ve invested heavily in a product that really does make our roads safer for everyone.”
