Mersey-made sports safety app celebrates global growth as more download the life-saving technology
Since launching in 2019, Busby has soared in its international popularity, with downloads for the app increasing by around 900% this year alone.
Co-founder Kirk Ryan said: "Busby has got off to an amazing start since we first launched the app in 2019 and it is growing in popularity around the world.
"People who are involved in a whole range of sports from running, cycling, horse riding and motorcycling are downloading the app - which is free to use.
"Busby automatically detects incidents like a crash or a cyclist coming off their bike, with the new technology asking the rider if they are okay, before alerting emergency contacts if help is needed. It really could save your life.
Fellow Busby founder, James Duffy, added: "We are proud of what we have created. Our recent award win and the partnerships we have created with brands and sports teams throughout the world are incredible, but the most important thing for us was to develop an app that really does make outdoor sports activities safer for everyone.
"We are encouraging more people to download it. It is something we should all have."
